The Taconic Tiny House is an extra-wide 10′. The height of the roof peak is within the road-legal maximum of 13 1⁄2’. The trailer is 24′ long, with a 20′ house and 4′ porch.
This house is on a deck-over trailer, which means the wheel wells don’t protrude into the interior of the house. The floor is about 4′ off the ground, whereas our other tiny houses’ floors are about 2′ off the ground.
Park model homes, at 10′ wide, are built permanently on their chassis but not meant to be moved after they’re professionally delivered. For travel-friendly tiny houses, click here.
The Taconic is built as a weekend retreat, bringing the beauty of nature inside through its large windows. The living room is a beautiful, light-filled room with views out of three sides.
The house is meant to be a base camp for outdoor adventure, with a kitchenette (sink, mini-fridge and cooktop), basic bathroom and queen sized bed, and a gorgeous porch protected on four sides to let low winter light in but provide shade in the summer. It is highly insulated and energy-efficient for four seasons.
