Entry and Living Area
The exterior is pine shiplap, woodburned using the Japanese technique, Shou Sugi Ban (other siding options are available). The optional porch, with a river branch railing, opens into the entryway, with coat hooks, shelves, and drawers. The sofa slides out on rails to convert into a full-size guest bed, allowing the house to sleep four. Built-in storage is tucked away throughout the house, including a bookcase, drawers and cabinets, and shelving. A mounted flat-screen TV swivels so it can be seen from the loft, the living room, or the kitchen.
The bathroom has a rain shower head, subway tiles in the full-size shower, a macerating toilet, and a porcelain handwashing sink. Storage cabinets are built-in.
The kitchen boasts premium fixtures and appliances, including poured-in-place sealed concrete countertops, a three-burner propane stove and oven, a range hood, and under-counter refrigerator and freezer drawers. Cabinets and shelving provide storage space. A breakfast nook is in front of a large picture window. A second entrance is into the kitchen.
The loft fits a queen-sized bed with a little extra floor space for personal effects. The loft has 360 degree views with windows on all sides, plus skylights. A staircase with storage underneath transitions into a ship’s ladder for the upper few steps, ensuring the wall of windows is not blocked by stairs.
There are fresh and black water tanks hidden under the sofa. A heating and cooling minisplit is remote-controlled. Dimmable recessed lighting is throughout the house, with pendant lights in the kitchen. An optional built-in Bluetooth audio system connects to your smartphone.
